Join The Shirley Povich Center for Sports Journalism at the University of Maryland Philip Merrill College of Journalism for a virtual conversation with former Terps Tim Kurkjian and Scott Van Pelt on Thursday, March 3, from 5-6 p.m.
ESPN personalities Kurkjian and Van Pelt will discuss the status of the upcoming Major League Baseball season and Kurkjian’s impending induction into the National Baseball Hall of Fame. In December, Kurkjian was named the 2022 winner of the Baseball Writers' Association of America's Career Excellence Award – the highest media honor awarded by the BBWAA. Induction ceremonies are scheduled for July in Cooperstown, New York.
Both Kurkjian and Van Pelt are members of the Povich Center Advisory Board.
The event will take place over Zoom, and registration is required. The link to join the Zoom conference will be sent after registration. Call-in options will also be available.
