Pre-application Status and Title Budget Application Updates
The Title Grants and Support (TGS) team is working as quickly as possible to approve pre-applications and Title grant budgets. As a reminder, the pre-application must be fully approved before budget applications will be reviewed. You may access the status of the pre-application via this tracker. Contact TitleI@doe.in.gov with any questions.
The TGS team is prioritizing reviews of Title I budget applications, followed by Title II budget applications, from LEAs with fully approved pre-applications at this time. Please address any revisions requested from your assigned federal grant specialists in a timely manner to ensure an expedited approval process.
Late Liquidation Extension Request Template
The U.S. Department of Education announced the release of a Liquidation Extension Request template for grantee use for the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, the Governor's Emergency Education Relief (GEER) Fund, and the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) Fund. Please view this process flowchart for information on how to apply for a late liquidation approval. Use this JotForm to submit necessary information by Friday, November 18.
Contact esser@doe.in.gov or geersupport@doe.in.gov with any questions.
New Risk Assessment to Determine Monitoring
After seeking comments and feedback from the Federal Programs Advisory Board, the Title Grants and Support team has revised the Risk Assessment Rubric for the 2022-2023 school year. The draft rubric can be viewed at this link. There will be four risk levels: low risk, moderate low risk, moderate high risk, and high risk.
All LEAs received a copy of their risk assessment results in early November that indicated their risk level and the associated action required. If your LEA was identified as "moderate low risk," a program self-assessment will be provided soon. If your LEA is required to complete a desktop or onsite monitoring visit, a federal grants specialist will be in contact regarding required actions.
Contact titlei@doe.in.gov with any questions.
TGS Monitoring Timeline

Thursday, December 1: LEAs notified of onsite or self-assessment monitoring
Thursday, December 15: Desktop monitoring documents due
January 16, 2023: Onsite monitoring documents due, onsite meeting scheduled
