Douglas Ruiz Carbajal

Vice President, Records & Archives

Douglas is the current Vice President of Records and Archives for UCLA Staff Assembly. He first began his UCLA experience as an undergraduate student, graduating with a B.S. in Molecular Cellular and Developmental Biology in 2014. He then joined the Internal Medicine residency program education team, and currently serves as program coordinator. In this role, he manages program operations, which is inclusive but not limited to complex scheduling logistics across the multitude of training locations, program accreditation, and office administration management. In addition to his work, Douglas is also serving as a Councilor for the Association of Program Directors in Internal Medicine Program Administrators Advisory Council, which represents and advocates for program administrators within the national organization in addition to promoting collaboration and professional development within the administrator community.

Douglas strives to promote the development and success of others in addition to continuously seeking improvement in his work. He enjoys problem solving, process improvement, and sharing of best practices. Outside of work, you may find him hiking in the local Santa Monica Mountains, biking along the coast across our many beaches, developing his photography skills across Los Angeles, or simply relaxing at home.
